Alright, guys. Hear me out on this. Read it all before back-lashing.
I don’t think that PewDiePie did anything wrong. That’s just his comedic style. Tons of YouTubers, shows, plays/musicals, books, and songs have said/done things just like PewDiePie. As long as he didn’t actually mean it, I don’t see why it matters. I can understand why Disney broke off their contract with him. I honestly don’t understand why they endorsed him in the first place - he’s not child appropriate, and he never has been. Sure, people have the right to be angry at him, but that doesn’t mean that we need to ban him from YouTube or anything like this. Having a sense of humor doesn’t make you a bad person. I make suicide jokes all the time, though I don’t think that suicide is a joke. It’s just my comedic style. I make “triggered” jokes all the time, though I don’t think that traumatic/disturbing experiences are a joke. I realize that these things are serious problems, just like racism, sexism, xenophobia, the Holocaust, etc. I know that they were/are awful, awful things that happen, but I still joke about them because it’s funny to some people. What PewDiePie said is no different than the jokes that Filthy Frank, iDubbbz, Maxmoefoe, and others make. Why don’t they get back-lash and hate if they say even worse things than what PewDiePie did? I’ve seen so many plays/musicals, read so many books, and heard so many songs with this kind of speech in them. It’s a joke. It’s called dark humor. Not every joke should/has to be 100% innocent and sweet and child-appropriate. Not everyone has to like dark humor. I can understand why people don’t. But let people have their sense of humor - it’s not killing anyone.
TL;DR - People have their own senses of humor. Don’t bash them for it if they don’t actually mean the things they’re saying.
This needs to go viral also felix needs to see this instead of all the stupid things on his posts
